Silence.
It can be a solace, a comforting embrace in a world of noise and confusion.
It can be peaceful. Hopeful. Like the quiet of a cool spring morning filled only with the cheerful song of birds in the gently swaying trees.
But silence is a tricky thing. Spend too long in it, and it can become stifling.
There comes a point where noise is not chaos, but the sound of breaking free. A sound of becoming. And I am still in the middle of learning what that looks like.
This is a platform meant for my author’s page, but this author is also a person, and I have been going through some very personal changes. Hence my absence.
I have found comfort in the silence. It was necessary. The only way I knew how to deal with the pain and weight of slowly losing myself to the void that was my marriage.
But I have evolved. Like a creature changing its own genetic code for survival, I have been unraveling years of silence and reworking it into something powerful… something I cannot yet name, but that I know will change the course of my entire life.
Is this too personal for my author page? I think not, for the author and their work cannot help but be transformed together. And I have decided to write unafraid, to write exactly the stories that have been begging to be told. And if my readers continue reading my work, I will know it was because they saw a bit of themselves in what I’ve written.
Dear reader, know that silence is never wasted. It is a space to find oneself. A space in which you realize exactly who you are. I have been here in the quiet, still writing, still creating.
And although what I have been writing is very far from finished, I am most pleased to announce that a new series is on its way! Here is a small glimpse:
In a world of gods and misfits, Cemre lives in the shadows, hunting the vicious beasts that lurk in the vast marshlands of her homeland. Until one fateful day, she encounters a terrifying creature that is unsusceptible to her weapons. A monster that leaks shadows and devours souls.
Barely escaping with her life, Cemre embarks on a quest that unearths her buried past and unveils the darkness that has been growing before her very eyes, leaving her with a choice:
Does she return to her life in the wilds, or will she stand against this force of evil… even if it is greater than anything she could have imagined?
Even if she must do so alone?
Stay tuned for more glimpses into Cemre’s story and updates on my writing journey. I will do my best to write on here more regularly now that I am at a place where I feel I can do so.
Much love,
-Arabella
